Welcome to The Ghostly Portal Archives! We use these archives for uploading evidence for review in order to better debunk or validate evidence, the more eyes and ears the better! I'm sure many of you have seen the kinds of stuff floating around the web that makes you wonder if the field of paranormal research and investigation will ever be taken seriously.
Below is an article we wrote that may help:
As paranormal investigators we capture alot of photos, video, audio and readings from our equipment when initiating our protocol in the field, we then go over all of it (which could take hours or days). When looking at all the evidence we have to remain "on the fence". What is meant by "on the fence" is that on one side we can't say that everything is paranormal when it may have a normal explanation as it will be scrutinized when it is presented (We all run into this, folks' want us to "prove it"). On the other side of the fence, we can't say that everything has a normal explanation as we may miss something of value for paranormal research and analysis, which is what generaly fuels our passion for the field of paranormal research and investigation (this is also what keeps our eyes open through many long hours of review).
We Have To Be Careful
The media, which includes T.V., the internet, radio broadcasts etc. is often used to post our findings (should they be released). Generaly, when we post finding we're looking for more insight (the more eyes and ears the better, none of us can know everything) as to the validity of those findings and more possible explanations. Here is where healthy scepticism really becomes important, many folks' will want the burden of proof (which we can't blame them with all the "questionable" stuff they see), credibility and the validity of our claims. When we browse the internet (which is the media we often use) we run into various websites with "evidence" of the paranormal that ends up with a normal explanation, thus being debunked. Not all of them have the intention of commiting fraud and will remove the evidence or announce that it has been debunked. We will also run into websites that will continue to post debunked, fabricated (alot of adobe software out there) and "fluffy stuff" with the intention of promoting fear or trying to draw attention to themselves as "experts" (or the only ones that do or have something). There is a large variety of websites, the point being made here is that a good paranormal investigator is faced with the task of maintaining credibility. We are responsible for everything we post as it may not only be a detriment to our own credibility, it may also affect the credibility in the field of paranormal research and investigation as a whole. Most teams will develop or addapt protocol in order to better preserve, isolate, present and back up etc. the evidence captured in the field which is very important for safety as well as maintaining credibility.
We hope you enjoy our archives, you may also create your own albums which can contain anything you like! Upload pictures, audio, movies or even documents. If you have any problems, contact us and we will do everything we can to help you.
When browsing through the files containing evidence, please don't hesitate to post your opinions. Your opinions matter as we may use them in finding alternate explanations, the debunking process or to help validate people's claims.
